Verify
Check a passport's proof file yourself.
A proof file holds a passport, its signatures, its full history and every handover of responsibility. Drop one here and your browser checks it against the keys it names.
This page does not upload your file. The check runs in your browser, and the page is not allowed to contact any other website: the only thing it asks this one for is the example files below. Browser extensions can read any page you open, so check a confidential file in a browser window without them.
Or paste its contents
No file to hand?
Try one of these. The tampered ones were each changed after signing.
Know its limits
What this proves, and what it does not.
It proves the file is intact
Every signature is checked against the passport it covers, the history is checked link by link, and a single changed character is caught where it happened.
It does not prove who holds the keys
The file carries a copy of the issuer's identity document. To tie the keys to a company, compare it with the one that company publishes on its own web domain.
A qualified seal is not opened here
If the file carries a qualified electronic seal, the browser reports it as not checked rather than guessing. The node's own verifier reads seals.
It agrees with the node, by test
This checker mirrors the verifier inside Odal Node. Every change to this site is tested against verdicts that verifier produced.
